Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage can be both preventative and rehabilitative. It includes all basic strokes that are used in Swedish Massage, but is more targeted toward a specific area of concern or condition which the client would like to improve and typically also includes various advanced techniques, such as deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, active and passive stretching techniques, joint mobilisation, and aromatherapy. Different positions (for example side-lying) can be used to specifically target the area of concern. Therapeutic Massage is very effective to relieve tensions in deeper layers of tissue in the body and release chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. It also aids the recovery from an injury by reducing pain and swelling, increasing flexibility, and improving the supply of oxygen and nutrients in the tissues and encouraging the removal of waste materials from the body.

Craniosacral Therapy

Every living tissue produces a very subtle rhythmic movement, which is essential for healthy function and relates to the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, a fluid that nourrishes and oxygenates the central nervous system. Those subtle movements can be affected by physical injuries, stress, birth trauma, and toxicity. Craniosacral Therapy uses a very light touch on the tissues around the sacrum, the spine, and the cranium to palpate this rhythm and detect and normalize areas of dysfuntion, thus influencing the entire body through its effects on the central nervous system. It is an effective preventative health measure to enhance the body's resistance to disease, encourage the body's self-regulating capacities,  and is commonly applied for a wide range of medical conditions that include migraine/headaches, chronic neck and back pain, TMJ syndrome, colic, learning disabilities, autism, central nervous system disorders, orthopedic problems, immune disorders, chronic fatigue, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, post-traumatic or post-surgical dysfunction, and fibromyalgia.

Healing Touch

Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing energy therapy. Gentle touch assists in balancing your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Healing Touch works with your body's energy field, energy centers and pathways to balance the flow and distribution of energy throughout the body and enhance your self-healing capacities. It works great in adjunction to standard medical care and can help to reduce stress, improve insomnia, calm anxiety or depression, decrease pain, strengthen the immune system, hasten healing, provide emotional support, and ease acute and chronic neck and back problems.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is a very gentle massage stimulating your lymph and body fluids. It helps to emliminate fluid retention, toxins and proteins trapped in the tissues. The passage of lymph fluid into the lymph nodes also stimulates your immune system, helps you to relax and release stress, and relieves pain. Lymphatic Drainaige is very effective to prevent or reduce swelling (edema) and facilitate wound healing. It activates lymph function and stimulates circulation of the body and is known to reduce fibromyalgia and fatigue syndrome.

Raindrop Therapy

This technique involves dropping essential oils directly onto the spine from about six inches above the body. The oils are then worked into the spine using light strokes with the fingers which stimulate nerve impulses and disperse the oils along the nervous system throughout the entire body. In this way, the body can be brought into balance and the energy centers can be cleared and re-aligned. This unique therapy will also help to reduce spinal inflammation and kill viruses that hibernate along the spinal column, as well as help to straighten any spinal curvatures. Although the session lasts for about an hour, the oils will continue to work in the body for a week or more following the treatment.

Reflexology

Reflexology, also called Zone Therapy, is based on the notion that each body part is represented on the hands and feet. Applying pressure on these reflex areas with specific thumb and finger techniques induces physical effects in the body. It stimulates the flow of energy, blood, nutrients, and nerve impulses to the corresponding body zone and thereby relieves ailments in that zone, stimulating the body's own healing capacity. Reflexology is frequently used to assist post-operative recovery, help to release stress and tensions, clear the body of toxins, strengthen the immune system, improve circulation and digestion and encourage the body tho heal current disorders.
